The works of those big names are dangerously close to being synonymous with quality and innovation, thanks to their tireless efforts in creating “eye candy” projects around the world.

The existence of starchitects testifies for the degradation of architecture from being a service, to being a spectacle. Their designed works must always be examined through a skeptical lens and approached without blind zeal, with metrics beyond superficial beauty and grandeur.
